Additional Mathematics tuition at Beauty World

Sec 3 and Sec 4 A Math in classes of five, beside Beauty World MRT. Every line of working is marked the way an examiner marks it, so students learn where the marks are, not only the answers.

What we cover

The syllabus is organised in three strands. We work one topic ahead of most schools, so lessons at school become revision.

Algebra

  • Quadratic functions
  • Equations and inequalities
  • Surds
  • Polynomials and partial fractions
  • Binomial expansions
  • Exponential and logarithmic functions

Geometry and trigonometry

  • Trigonometric functions, identities and equations
  • Coordinate geometry in two dimensions
  • Proofs in plane geometry

Calculus

  • Differentiation and integration

Where A Math marks go

Most A Math marks are method marks. A correct final answer with the working missing can score less than a wrong answer with the right method, and on “show that” and “hence” questions the working is all that is marked. We teach students to write the line each mark lives on.

How method marks work: M1, A1 and B1

When to reject a root in A Math

How a lesson runs

01

Marked like an examiner

Homework comes back annotated against the mark scheme, M1, A1 and B1, so students learn where the marks live.

02

Five to a room

The tutor sees every line of working, in every lesson, for every student.

03

Timed from Term 2

Knowing a method and producing it in 90 seconds are different skills. We practise both.

Questions parents ask

Is A Math changing for the 2027 exams?

From 2027, Secondary 4 students sit the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) instead of the O-Level. Additional Mathematics is examined at G3 under syllabus K341, organised in the same three strands: algebra, geometry and trigonometry, and calculus. Students sitting the exam in 2026 take O-Level syllabus 4049. What else changes with the SEC.

Does A Math matter for JC?

For H2 Mathematics, yes. The H2 syllabus (9758) assumes O-Level Mathematics and lists the A Math content it also assumes, including partial fractions, logarithms, the R-formula in trigonometry and differentiation, so those are used from the first term of JC 1 without being taught again. Can my child join in the middle of Sec 3 or in Sec 4?

Yes. Start with a trial class. We group students by level and by current working grade, not by school, and re-group at the end of each term if a student has moved ahead of or behind their group.

What happens in a trial class?

Your child joins a regular lesson at their level and works the same problems as everyone else. The tutor marks their working against the official scheme, and we go through it with you afterwards. There is no obligation to enrol.

What does a trial class cost?

The trial is a regular 2-hour lesson, and it is paid. Message us on WhatsApp for the current fee. There is no registration fee, and no obligation to enrol afterwards.

How do fees work?

Fees depend on the programme and are charged four weeks at a time. There is no registration fee or deposit. Missed lessons can be made up in another class of the same level within the term. Message us on WhatsApp for the current fee.
