METHOD&MARK PRIVATE LIMITED (“we”) runs a tuition centre at #04-12 Beauty World Centre, 144 Upper Bukit Timah Road, Singapore 588177, and this website. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can see, correct or withdraw it. We follow Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

What we collect

When you visit: Google Analytics records how the site is used: pages viewed, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city or region). It uses cookies to tell one visit from another. It also records when you tap our WhatsApp, phone or email links, so we can see which pages lead to enquiries. Google Analytics does not store your IP address.
When you contact us: Your name, phone number, email address, and whatever you tell us in the message, such as your child’s level, subjects and school.
When your child joins: The parent or guardian’s name and contact details; the student’s name, school, level and subjects; grades the student shares with us; the work they do with us and our marking of it; attendance; and fee payment records. We also keep anything you choose to tell us that helps us teach your child, such as a learning need.

We do not need NRIC numbers, so please do not send us one.

Why we use it

To reply to your enquiry and arrange a trial class.
To teach your child: grouping them into a class, marking their work, and telling you how they are doing.
To run the centre: scheduling, make-up lessons, fees, receipts and our accounting records.
To understand which parts of this website are useful, and improve them.

We only send you news or offers if you have agreed to receive them, and you can stop them at any time by telling us. We do not sell personal data.

Advertising and audience matching

Where a parent or guardian has agreed to this use, we may use their phone number or email address to create advertising audiences with Meta for Facebook and Instagram. The contact identifiers are hashed for matching with Meta accounts. Hashing helps protect the identifiers during matching; it does not make this use anonymous.

We use these audiences to reach consenting parents and to find other people with similar characteristics who may be interested in our classes. We do not upload students’ names, student contact details, schools, grades or learning needs for this audience matching.

You can withdraw permission for audience matching or marketing by emailing hello@methodandmark.com. We will stop using your contact details for that purpose and remove them from our audience lists. You may still see our ads through other targeting methods. This notice does not replace the permission required for this use.

Children’s data

Our students are under 18. We collect their personal data from, and with the consent of, a parent or guardian. We do not use photos or videos of students on this website or in any publicity without a parent’s written consent, and that consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the services we need to run the centre and this website, and only for the purposes above:

Google: Google Analytics (website statistics), Google Maps (the map on our home page, which Google loads when you scroll to it and which may set its own cookies), and Gmail, where email sent to our addresses is delivered.
Vercel: Hosts this website. Like any web host, its servers briefly log technical details of each request, such as IP address and browser.
Namecheap: Our domain provider, which forwards email sent to our addresses.
Telegram: When you book a trial class through the form on this site, the details you enter are sent to our team’s Telegram chat so we can reply quickly.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram): With permission, we share parent or guardian phone/email identifiers for Custom Audience matching and Lookalike Audiences. If you submit an enquiry through a Meta lead form, Meta also processes the details you enter, which are shared with us to respond and arrange a trial. See Meta’s Privacy Policy.
WhatsApp: If you message us on WhatsApp, the conversation is handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, for example to a government authority. Some of these providers store data outside Singapore. Where they do, we rely on their contractual commitments to protect it to a standard comparable to the PDPA.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies whose names begin with _ga. They are used only for the statistics described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works fully without them.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details and student records only for as long as we need them for the purposes above, then delete them. Fee and payment records are kept for five years, as Singapore law requires for business records. Google Analytics data is deleted automatically after the retention period set in our account.

How we protect it

Only our tutors and the people who run the centre can see student records, and we take reasonable security measures to protect personal data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. If a data breach is likely to cause significant harm, we will notify the Personal Data Protection Commission and the people affected, as the PDPA requires.

Your choices

See your data. Ask us what personal data we hold about you or your child, and how it has been used in the past year.
Correct it. Tell us if anything is wrong or out of date.
Withdraw consent. You can withdraw consent for any use at any time. If that stops us teaching your child or running their account, we will explain what changes before acting on it.

Email hello@methodandmark.com with the subject “Personal data request”. We will reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm who you are before sharing any records.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects data we already hold, we will tell you before it takes effect.
